Etsy fees explained simply

Every time you sell something on Etsy, they take a cut from three separate charges. Here's what each one is:

FeeWhat it isAmount
Listing feeCharged when you create or renew a listing$0.20 per listing (every 4 months)
Transaction feeEtsy's cut of every sale including shipping6.5%
Payment processingCard processing (varies by country)3% + $0.25 (US)
Offsite AdsOnly applies if Etsy ran an ad that led to your sale12% (shops over $10k/yr) or 15%

For digital products, there are no packaging, postage, or material costs — so your profit margins can be very high. A $5 digital printable typically leaves you around $3.80–$4.20 after all Etsy fees.

The Offsite Ads fee only applies when Etsy specifically placed an ad for your product on Google, Facebook, or Pinterest and a buyer came through that ad. You can opt out if your shop earns under $10,000 a year.
